IIAE was started in year 1992 in Dehradun (Uttrakhand). IIAE is registered with office of Sub Registrar; Government of India, New Delhi vide no. 488770 under Indian Registration Act 1908 (Proprietorship). IIAE Dehradun was previously known as Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering. It was established in 1992 at 15/1, Kalidas Road, Dehradun for one single motive i.e. to improve the quality of engineering education and empower student with better knowledge and scope in the field of Aeronautical. In 2006 IIAE Dehradun relocated near Jolly Grant Airport to impart academic preparation through conduct of regular theoretical classes and practical training

IIAE Dehradun (Formerly known as Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering) is an Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering college and one of the oldest Aeronautical Engineering colleges of India, it is a gateway institution for the candidates looking to immigrate abroad for better employment opportunities or even hoping to pursue their higher education or work in India.
