About this course
Aeronautical engineering involves the application of specialist scientific knowledge to designing and developing aero planes, space shuttles, missiles and other flying machines. This qualification is concerned with the development of aircraft using science and engineering, computational and analytical skills to design vehicles and structures that interact with the earth’s atmosphere. At IIAE Dehradun, you will develop your abilities in mathematics, physics, materials and computer science, backed-up with a strong design philosophy. All of which will equip you to design, analyze, manufacture and operate aircraft vehicles. An aeronautical engineer needs a sound understanding of the mathematics, physics, computer science, materials science and design philosophy. You will learn to apply this skills in a variety of important areas in the global aerospace industry. After completion of the course, students are awarded Level 6 qualification/Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Aeronautical Engineering.
Key Areas of Study:
1. Advanced Aircraft Design

Future after completion of our Aeronautical Engineering Program
Graduates from Level 6 Aeronautical Engineering typically progress to:
1. Graduate roles in aircraft design, structural analysis, propulsion systems, avionics, or systems integration
2. Postgraduate studies such as MSc in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering
3. Graduate schemes with leading aerospace companies.
Aeronautical engineers are responsible for the creation of newer, safer and more energy-efficient, economical methods for travel. They work at the forefront of developing technology for everything from airplanes and helicopters to missiles, satellites and spacecraft. The work involves meeting the ever-increasing global travel demands by applying engineering principles to design, develop and maintain highly sophisticated technologies for use in aviation, defense systems and space exploration. They ensure that aircraft, spacecraft and missiles meet safety requirements by creating new and more environmentally friendly designs and manufacturing methods. Aeronautical engineers can specialize in a number of areas including: structural design; flight mechanics and control systems; aerodynamics; instrumentation and communication; and manufacturing and maintenance. Jobs titles that Aeronautical Engineer may apply for: Aircraft Design Engineer, Aerodynamics Engineer, Propulsion Engineer, Structural Engineer, MRO Engineer (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) etc.
